This section lists races in the primary election that will take place on September 12, and does not include elections where candidates running for municipal office are unopposed. In the 2017 primary elections for New York City Council, a third of the Council’s 51 seats are held by incumbents who are running uncontested for reelection. A list of the Council primary candidates begins on page 7. This section also lists candidates running for New York City Mayor, New York City Public Advocate, Brooklyn District Attorney, Bronx Borough President, Queens Borough President, Civil Court Judge for Kings County, and Civil Court Judge for the 6th Municipal Court District.
