Special Election Candidate Questionnaires – Assembly District 65
Special Election Date: April 19, 2016

With the ouster of Sheldon Silver from Assembly District 65 due to his conviction on corruption charges, lower Manhattanites faced a special election to fill his seat.

Citizens Union is interested in ensuring that this Assembly seat is filled by a candidate who demonstrates public ethics, represents the public interest, and supports legislation and policy to improve the operations of democracy, such as campaign finance and election administration reform. To help voters in the district find such a candidate, Citizens Union is created questionnaires so New Yorkers can learn of the candidates’ positions on government reform issues.
